Bottom of the log club Cape Town Spurs announced the appointment of journeyman Ernst Middendorp as their new coach on Friday afternoon.
Spurs, who have only won once in 11 matches, desperately want to move from the foot of the DStv Premiership standings thus they employed the German-born mentor.
The 65-year-old Middendorp last coached in the DStv Premiership when he was in charge of Moroka Swallows. He, however, left the Dube Birds midway through last season.
Middendorp has his work cut out as the Urban Warriors have struggled even to score goals. They have scored nine times in 11 matches and conceded 22 goals in the process.
