Former national champion Landile ‘Man Down’ Ngxeke is looking at presenting himself with a superb Christmas gift in the form of the South African bantamweight title.
Ngxeke from Sada clashes with Lusizo ‘Speed Fire’ Manzana in a vacant SA bantamweight title contest at the Orient Theatre in East London on Saturday, 16 December.
“We have watched most of his fights and we know Manzana very well. I don’t think he will give us problems during the fight,” the former SA junior-bantamweight titlist remarked.
“We have done everything at training to make sure that I’m ready for the fight. I always make sure that I’m fit before each an every fight. This one is no different. I’m ready and would fight him even if I could be called to the ring now.”
Initially, Manzana from Mthatha was due to have fought for the same bantamweight title against the late former SA champion Ronald ‘King’ Malindi at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) early in July.
However, the fight never took place as Sean Smith, who trained Malindi, decided against travelling to East London without his assistant.
