Bafana Bafana are going to assemble in Johannesburg on Thursday evening before they fly to Cape Town on Friday morning to start a camp in Stellenbosch.
Bafana are scheduled to start their preparations for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which is going to be hosted by Ivory Coast from Saturday, 13 January until Sunday, 11 February.
Coach Hugo Broos’ boys open the AFCON tournament with a Group E clash against Mali on Tuesday, 16 January. Five days later, Bafana face their neighbours Namibia and then finish the round robin with a clash against the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia on the 24th.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced a 40 percent increase in the AFCON prize money.
The winners are going to pocket $7 million (R131m), runners-up $4m (R75m), semi-finalists $2,5m (R46m) and quarter-finalists will walk home with $1,3m (R24m).
