A major reshuffling is going to be effected in the Boxing South Africa (BSA) ratings and sanctioning committees in the wake of the end of the term of the previous BSA board.
Speculation is rife that former BSA board member Khulile Radu is set to be axed from a reconfigured ratings committee. Controversial ratings committee chairperson Willie Saayman is also going to be another casualty.
Radu returned to the BSA board via the ‘back door’ in October 2022. This was after Zandile Kabini had resigned two months earlier.
Saayman, a controversial figure as chairperson of the ratings committee between 2015 and 2017, was installed to his previous position in October last year following Andre de Vries’ resignation. And boxer managers have been complaining about how Saayman conducts himself since his return to the ratings committee.
Meanwhile, acting BSA chief executive officer Mandla Ntlanganiso is scheduled to address a press conference at the regulator’s offices in Pretoria at 11am on Tuesday.
