Khangelani Jack has ‘stripped’ Paradise Boxing Club of its key boxers as he’s taking South African featherweight champion Zolisa Batyi and Nhlanhla Tyirha to train them in Benoni, Ekurhuleni.

Jack shocked everyone when he left Paradise Boxing Club in Nxarhuni to go join Rock Solid Boxing and Fitness Gym in Benoni in September last year where he trains the likes of Prichard Dube, Chris Golding and Clement Pilusa.

Now he has returned to cause more damage to Paradise Boxing Club by snatching two of the establishment’s prized assets. Jack has trained Batyi and Tyirha before.

“I’m  leaving next week. Batyi has given me no choice. He has made it clear that he wants me to train him ahead of his title defence in March. He said that he’s  going to Johannesburg with me,” Jack revealed.

“Tyirha also wants to join me in Johannesburg. In fact, there are other three boxers who want to leave for Johannesburg with me. I’m still trying to figure out how I will accommodate the five boxers.”

The 2023 Trainer of the Year award winner has insisted that it’s difficult for him to turn away boxers who want to be trained by him.

“I’m a little bit confused at the moment. These boxers believe in my ability as a trainer and they are willing to relocate. The problem is how to accommodate all of them in Johannesburg. It wouldn’t be a problem if it was only one or two boxers. I need to come up with options before next week,” Jack said.

Batyi said when he confirmed that he will be turning his back on East London: “Yes, I’m leaving for Johannesburg next week. I’m going to be trained by Khangelani Jack.”

Meanwhile, Tyirha was unavailable as his cellphone went straight to voicemail when called for comment.
