Senegal made a statement as they thrashed The Gambia 3-0 in an Africa Cup of Nations encounter at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, on Monday afternoon.

The defending AFCON champions made their intentions clear as early as the fourth minute when Pape Alassane Gueye netted his first ever goal for the Teranga Lions

Lamine Camara scored twice in the second half to hand the Teranga Lions a positive start to the tournament. Camara scored his first goal seven minutes into the second half and completed his brace in the 86th minute.
