Egypt and Ghana played to an entertaining 2-2 draw in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tie at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, on Thursday evening.

Midfielder Mohamed Kudus’ stunning strike from Salis Abdul Samed’s assist gave the Black Stars the lead on the stroke of half-time.

And a defensive blunder by Ghana resulted in Pharaohs striker Omar Marmoush rounding Black Stars goalkeeper Richard Ofori before scoring the equaliser in the 69th minute.

Two minutes later, Kudus completed his brace as he shot past Egypt goalminder Mohamed El Shenawy to make it 2-1 for the Black Stars.

The Pharaohs didn’t give up despite trailing and their efforts were rewarded when Mostafa Mohamed equalised after he poked the ball off Trezeguet’s pass in the 74th minute.
