The Nigerian Super Eagles remained unbeaten after they defeated 2023 AfricaCup of Nations tournament hosts Ivory Coast 1-0 in a Group A match at the Olympic in Ebimpe on Thursday evening.
Former Netherlands Under-20 and Under-19 international William Troost-Ekong scored the only goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 55th minute.
The Super Eagles have now picked up four points following Thursday’s win and a draw with Equatorial Guinea in their group stages opener while the Elephants are on three points having beaten Guinea-Bissau.
