Guinea are on the brink of reaching the next round of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations finals after they beat The Gambia 1-0 in a Group C clash at the Charles Konan-Banny Stadium in Yamoussoukro, Ivory Coast, on Friday evening.

The goal, which separated the two sides, was scored by Aguibou Camara in the 69th minute. The 22-year-old Camara scored the goal despite being under pressure from Gambian defender James Gomez.

Meanwhile, Guinea have now collected four points in two matches having won once and drawn once. On the other hand, the Gambians are out of the AFCON finals after losing twice.
