Hugo Broos is quite relieved after Bafana Bafana clobbered Namibia 4-0 in a Group E Africa Cup of Nations match at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo, Ivory Coast, on Sunday evening.

Bafana went into the match under heavy pressure after they were beaten 2-0 by the Mali Eagles in their group opener last week. And Sunday’s win brought some relief to the 71-year-old Bafana coach.

“We knew that we had to win the game to have some chances to go to the group stages. So we were a little bit nervous in the beginning of the game. We more and more settled after we scored the goal. We played a good game,” the former Indomitable Lions coach remarked.

“We did a good analysis of our opponent and showed our players where their weaknesses and strongest points were. They are very dangerous from long balls, so we trained for that, and they were not that dangerous.”

Bafana are now going to play against Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles in their final group stages match at the Amadou Gon Coulibaly Stadium in Korhogo at 19h00 on Wednesday.

“It’s a good win, important for a goal difference. We have a boosted confidence ahead of the match of Wednesday against strong opponents. We have to win that game also,” Broos said.
