Johannesburg-based boxing trainer Phumzile ‘Sweet Chocolate’ Matyhila has poured cold water over rumours that his boxer Sikho ‘Sequence’ Nqothole is going to face off against reigning South African junior-bantamweight champion Phumelela ‘The Truth’ Cafu from Duncan Village.

Nqothole holds the World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Global junior-bantamweight title while Cafu has been an SA champion since he stopped Enathi Stelle in the first round last December.

“There’s no such thing. We know nothing about that. We are looking ahead and cannot go back. We would only consider a fight if it’s an IBF elimination bout. We can’t just fight for fun,” the former SA bantamweight champion from Mdantsane said.

Nqothole from Mthatha is rated 11th by the World Boxing Association (WBA), he’s ninth in both the International Boxing Federation (IBF) and WBO ratings. On the other hand, Cafu is ninth in the World Boxing Council (WBC), sixth in the WBA ratings and is rated 12th by the WBO.
