Bafana Bafana goalkeeper and captain Ronwen Williams walked away with the Golden Glove award at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, which was hosted by eventual winners Ivory Coast.

After conceding two goals in the opening match against Mali, Williams from Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape went on to keep five clean sheets from seven matches by the end of the tournament. 

The 32-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns stopper made history when he saved four spot kicks during a penalty shoout in a quarter-final encounter against Cape Verde. 

Meanwhile, Bafana won the Fair Play award with Nigerian Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong taking home the Best Player of the Tournament gong.

Ivorian Simon Adingra won the Best Young Player of the Tournament award and Emilio Nsue Lopez was the Golden Boot award winner after he scored five goals.

On the other hand, the Best Coach of the Tournament award was won by triumphant Elephants mentor Emerse Fae.
