SuperSport United joined their neighbours Mamelodi Sundowns in the last-16 of the Nedbank Cup after they beat Cape Town City 3-1 on penalties at the Lucas Moripe Stadium in Atteridgeville on Tuesday evening.

The two sides had to decide the match on spot kicks after they had played to a 1-1 draw in two hours of football.

The match went into extra time after the teams had drawn 1-1 in 90 minutes with Shandre Campbell scoring for Matsatsantsa a Pitori in the 20th minute and Khanyisa Mayo equalising in referee’s added time.
