Sekhukhune United have advanced to the second round of the Nedbank Cup after they beat Highlands Park 5-4 on penalties at the Dobsonville Stadium in Soweto on Wednesday evening.
This encounter was decided on spot kicks after the two teams had drawn 1-1 in 120 minutes of football. The match went into extra time following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Babina Noko took the lead after Maloisane Mokhele sent the ball into the box for Tresor Tshibwabwa to head home four minutes into extra time. And the Lions of the North equalised through Emilio Abreu in referee’s added time.
