Banyana Banyana cruised to a 3-0 win over Tanzania in the first leg of a 2024 Olympic qualifier at the Azam Complex in Dar-Es-Salaam on Friday afternoon.

Banyana raced to an early lead when Jermaine Seoposenwe put them ahead following Hildah Magaia’s cross from the left.

Coach Desiree Ellis’ team increased their lead through their captain Thembi Kgatlana in the 57th minute. The Tanzanians tried to play a waiting game and it failed as Kgatlana punished them.

After being a supplier, Magaia turned to finisher as she netted Banyana’s third goal four minutes from full-time to make sure that they go to next Tuesday’s second leg with a comfortable lead.
