Orlando Pirates showed Mpumalanga amateur side Crystal Lake no mercy as they hammered them 6-0 in a Nedbank Cup last-32 match at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit on Saturday afternoon.
The Buccaneers quickly scored three goals inside the first 12 minutes of the match. The Soweto giants took the lead through Oliseh Ndah’s goal in the fourth minute.
Four minutes later, Pirates doubled their lead when Tapelo Xoki scored from the penalty spot. Bucs were awarded the penalty after Maxwell Thethe had fouled Evidence Makgopa inside the box.
Relebohile Mofokeng made it 3-0 in the 11th minute and Patrick Maswanganyi scored Pirates’ fourth goal in the 33rd minute.
Xoki completed his brace when he headed in from Maswanganyi’s corner six minutes into the second half. Tshegofatso Mabasa’s header off Lesedi Kapinga’s pass made it 6-0 in the 79th minute.
