Kaine ‘K 9’ Fourie is thinking ahead as he is ready for his lightweight international fight against Kutlwano Ogaketse from Gaborone, Botswana, which is scheduled for the Box Camp Booysens in Johannesburg this coming Friday.

Unbeaten in eight fights, having won six times and drawn twice, the 22-year-old Fourie is going to square up against the Botswana national in his quest to stamp his authority in the lightweight division.

“We are not going there for a knockout. If a knockout comes, then I have no problem with that. I’m 100 percent sure that we are gonna get the victory. We have been training hard. He has never fought a guy like me. I’m going to outbox him. We have to go in hard in this fight and prove a point,” Fourie said.

Fourie added: “After this fight, I wanna go for the IBF Africa title because at the moment, the South African lightweight champion (Khaya Busakwe) is scared to fight. I don’t know why he’s scared to fight. However, if an opportunity comes for me to fight for the SA title, I will take it by all means. At the moment, he doesn’t want to fight me. So we are looking at better and bigger things at the moment.”

Meanwhile, Fourie stopped former South African and International Boxing Organisation flyweight (IBO) featherweight champion Lusanda Komanisi in the fourth round in his last fight, which was held at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park in November.
