Sabelo Ngebiyana is going to ‘come back’ home and become a Boxing South Africa (BSA) licensee once again after fighting using a Tanzanian licence because he was unhappy with how things were being done at the South African boxing regulatory body.
And his manager Immanuel Mutavhatsindi has revealed that he’s going to approach BSA on Ngebiyana’s behalf. Ngebiyana drew with Tanzanian boxer Ibrahim Mafia, birth name Ibrahim Mustafa Kodema, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Komani-born Ngebiyana and Mafia’s fight was a World Boxing Council (WBC) Africa bantamweight title contest and was held at the Mafia Boxing Arena in Mbezi Msumi, Dar-Es-Salaam in Tanzania.
“I’m going to write a letter to BSA as I represent Ngebiyana now. I want him to become a BSA licensee again so that he can fight for the SA title. We are now licensed in Tanzania and still sing our South African national anthem before fights. I respect BSA. Whatever happened in the past must remain in the past,” Mutavhatsindi said.
Meanwhile, Ngebiyana, a former South African junior-bantamweight titlist, is also keen on becoming a BSA licensee once again as he wants to test his fistic skills against boxers like Yanga Sigqibo and current SA bantamweight champion Landile Ngxeke.
“I’m coming back and will fight in the bantamweight division. I want to fight against Sigqibo and thereafter go beat Ngxeke,” Ngebiyana remarked.
