Jeff Magagane, who is a former South African featherweight champion, gets an opportunity to arrest the slide after he lost his last two fights as he faces Filipino boxer JonJon ‘Wolverine’ Estrada next week.

After suffering losses in title fights, the 33-year-old Magagane now clashes with Estrada at the Maun National Stadium, Botswana, on Saturday, 30 March.

“I can confirm that I’m going to fight in Botswana next week. We have been training very hard, preparing for this fight,” Magagane said.

Magagane was dethroned by current SA featherweight champion Zolisa Batyi when he suffered a second round stoppage loss at the Ngoako Ramatlhodi Sports Complex in Seshego, Polokwane, in December 2022.

He was also stopped in the seventh round by Angolan boxer Pedro Manuel Gomes in a vacant IBA Intercontinental featherweight title contest in Lisbon, Portugal, in December last year.

Meanwhile, the 31-year-old Estrada who is based in Pasay City, Metro Manila, fought four times last year – registering two wins and two defeats.
