Andile ‘Black Buffalo’ Mshumpela has finally secured an opponent for his exhibition fight, which will form part of the Kay B Promotions tournament set for the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday, 31 March.

A South African featherweight title fight between reigning champion Zolisa Batyi and Lucky Hobyane is going to headline this tournament.

Initially, the Mshu One Boxing Management boss had challenged East London legal eagle Ntsikelelo Manyisane to an exhibition bout. And it looked like the bout was going to take place until recently.

With Manyisane having pulled out of the bout, Mshumpela, who manages boxers at the Luvuyo Boxing Club in Mdantsane, will now face off against Akhona Matyobeni.

“Actually, he’s the one who challenged me to fight him in the exhibition bout after seeing that I was struggling to get an opponent,” Mshumpela explained.

Matyobeni, an accountant at the Buffalo City Metro, is a long distance runner. He returned home with silver medals in the last two editions of the Comrades Marathon.
