Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos said that he’s satisfied even though his team drew 1-1 with minnows Andorra in an international friendly match at the 19 May 1956 Stadium in Annaba, Algeria, in the early hours of Friday morning.
Andorra took an early lead when Ricardo Fernandez scored following a dreadful error by South African goalkeeper Ricardo Goss in the sixth minute. Bafana equalised 19 minutes later from debutant Elias Mokwana’s strike.
“I’m satisfied, really not with the result. I’m satisfied of the performance. A totally new team. I’m satisfied about some players. They give me much satisfaction,” Broos said.
Coming to how Andorra played, Broos said: “I think you saw what I said before the game. It’s a team who plays very defensive, very physical, always look for a duel and play first man. That’s the kind of style they have. We give away a goal very easily, but if you see the chances we have after that, six, seven good chances to score, even with that little present we gave to Andorra we could have won the game.”
Meanwhile, Bafana are going to clash against Algeria in their second friendly match in North Africa at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers on Tuesday next week.
