Fresh from leading Lindelani Sibisi to a first round win over Tanzanian Iddy Kayumba last Saturday, boxing trainer Mtuseni Dube wants reigning South African featherweight champion Zolisa Batyi to put his title on the line against his boxer.

Dube from Dundee in KwaZulu-Natal strongly believes that Sibisi, wno is a World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental featherweight champion, can easily dethrone Batyi.

Nxarhuni-born Batyi laboured to an eighth round stoppage win over challenger Lucky Hobyane at the Orient Theatre in East London last Sunday.

“He’s got nowhere to hide. We want to fight against Batyi because we believe that we can beat him. We are even prepared to go to the Eastern Cape and beat him there,” Dube remarked.

The 25-year-old Sibisi has six wins with five of those victories coming from stoppages and has lost twice.

Sange Ngoza from Mthatha is one of Sibisi’s victims having been stopped in the sixth round at the Olive Convention Centre, Durban, last December.
