Nhlanhla ‘Mount Kilimanjaro’ Tyirha has claimed that he has not given up on life in Johannesburg as he’s back home in Mdantsane just less than four months of being in Gauteng’s most populous city.

The former South African junior-flyweight champion has insisted that he’s still at home after coming back from Johannesburg for the Easter holidays. Tyirha moved to Johannesburg in January this year and is trained by Vusi Mtolo in Edenvale, Ekurhuleni.

“I’m still here at home since I came back for the Easter weekend. I will be returning to Johannesburg at the end of the month,” Tyirha, who last fought when he was stopped in the eighth round by Malawian George Kandulo last July, said.

Tyirha’s manager Thembelani ‘Shakes’ Hlombe said when contacted for comment: “He came here for the Easter holidays and will return to Johannesburg at the end of the month.”

Tyirha is currently training under former World Boxing  Association (WBA) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) featherweight champion Simphiwe ‘V12’ Vetyeka.
