Mamelodi Sundowns are marching nicely towards a DStv Premiership trophy triumph as they defeated Cape Town Spurs 1-0 at the Athlone Stadium on Tuesday evening.
Brazilian Lucas Ribeiro Costa netted the only goal of the match three minutes before the half-time break. Ribeiro scored from the penalty spot after match referee Thabo Mkhabela judged that Peter Shalulile had been fouled inside the box.
The Tshwane giants have, as a result of the win, gone 13 points ahead of second placed Stellenbosch FC with two games in hand. Overall, the Brazilians have now collected 52 points from 20 matches.
