Xolisani ‘Nomeva’ Ndongeni feels that he’s fortunate to get an opportunity to fight yet again as he will be fighting for the third time this year when he clashes against Malawian boxer Crispin Moliati early next month.

The former International Boxing Organisation (IBO) lightweight champion comes up against Moliati in an eight rounds bout at a Boxing5 Promotions tournament at the Box Camp Booysens in Johannesburg on Sunday, 5 May.

Already, the erstwhile South African junior-lightweight and lightweight titlist has fought twice this year – losing both fights to American boxers Arnold Barboza Junior in January and Raymond Muratalla last month.

“I was fortunate to get this fight. I’m a very fortunate person, God is on my side,” Ndongeni, who is going to bury his late grandfather in KwaBhaca this coming Saturday, said.

Ndongeni is the fourth South African boxer to square up against Moliati. The Malawian has lost twice to Tshifhiwa Munyai, once to Ayanda Nkosi and Koos Sibiya.

Meanwhile, Ndongeni revealed that his trainer Mzamo ‘Chief’ Njekanye from Duncan Village in East London is going to be in his corner when he clashes against the Malawian opponent.

Ndongeni’s corner was manned by Reniel Aponte and Michael Robles from KO Fitness Gym in Miami, United States of America, when he fought against Muratalla.
