Former Chipolopolo captain Rainford Kalaba is fighting for his life at a Zambian hospital following a terrible car accident in Lusaka. 

According to news coming out of Zambia, Kitwe-born Kalaba was in a critical condition and was rushed to the University Teaching Hospital in Lusaka after the accident. 

The 37-year-old Kalaba, a member of the Chipolopolo squad that won the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations tournament, announced his retirement in June last year after he spent 13 years at TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
