True to form, the National Professional Boxing Promoters Association (NPBPA) has organised a media briefing on Google Meet at 13h00 on Monday next week.

The appointment of the new board of Boxing South Africa (BSA) is the only item that is going to be addressed by the NPBPA.

Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Zizi Kodwa announced the appointment of the seven-member BSA board on Tuesday. Initially, 14 people were shortlisted for the seven positions.

Kodwa appointed Sifiso Shongwe as board chairperson to work with Dr Koketso Tsebe, Luxolo September, Sakhiwe Sodo, Nande Mheshe, Romy Titus and Dr Luvuyo Bayeni.

It’s expected that the NPBPA is going to announce its next move in the wake of the BSA board announcement. The NPBPA took Kodwa to court and successfully interdicted the board in December last year.
