Sikho ‘Sequence’ Nqothole from Mthatha in the Eastern Cape has explained why his trainer Phumzile ‘Sweet Chocolate’ Matyhila’s departure for Mexico got delayed.
Nqothole left South Africa for Mexico together with Ludumo Lamati to finalise his preparatios for his fight against unbeaten Mexican boxer Rene Calixto Bibiano. The two boxers clash in Ixtapaluca on Saturday, 25 May (Sunday, 26 May, South African time).
“My coach’s departure delayed because of visa problems. However, we are waiting for him to join us later today (Wednesday),” Nqothole said from Mexico.
The 29-year-old Nqothole added: “It’s hot here. I suffered in the second and third day. But I’m okay now. I’m looking forward to the fight.”
Meanwhile, the 29-year-old Calixto has a perfect record having won all his 22 fights with nine of those wins coming from stoppages.
