Brilliant Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper Ronwen Williams is hoping that the Brazilians will end the 2023/24 season on a high note without losing a match.

The Tshwane giants, who clash against Cape Town City in their 30th DStv Premiership match, have won 22 matches and drawn seven times this season.

“It’s been an amazing season, especially in the league. We’ve been nothing short of great. We’ve been amazing throughout the season. Our consistency has been key. Our relentlessness, our brotherhood, our fighting spirit throughout the season,” Williams said.

On the match against the Citizens, the 32-year-old Williams, remarked: “This game has so many big things in it. If we obviously avoid defeat, we will become the first team to get the invincible tag in South Africa, that’s massive. I know we fully deserve it. The hard work, the sacrifices we have done throughout the season, it would be perfect for us to end the season with a win, especially in front of our supporters.”

The former SuperSport United goalminder has had a brilliant season between the sticks. That he has been nominated in the Footballer of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season and Goalkeeper of the Season categories bears testimony to that. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
