Bafana Bafana held the Nigerian Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria, on Friday evening.
Themba Zwane put Bafana ahead when he beat Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali following a pass from Sphephelo Sithole in the 29th minute. That was the 34-year-old Mamelodi Sundowns star’s 12th goal in 46 Bafana matches.
The Super Eagles quickly turned things around early in the second half as they equalised through Oluwafisayo Faruq Dele-Bashiru in the 46th minute.
