The kind of self belief that Roarke Knapp has ahead of his fight against Mexican opponent Jorge Garcia Perez shows how much he wants to win the clash on Saturday evening.

Knapp collides with Perez in a vacant International Boxing Organisation (IBO) junior-middleweight title contest at a Golden Gloves tournament at the Emperor’s Palace in Kempton Park, Ekurhuleni.

“I believe it’s my time. I sacrificed everything in this camp. I have fought international competition for a number of years and tough local guys as well,” Knapp remarked.

Knapp, who is trained by Vusi Mtolo, goes into this fight with a record of 17 victories with 12 of those coming from knockouts, one defeat and a draw. On the other hand, Perez is more experienced having registered 29 with 24 stoppages and four losses.

Meanwhile, Mtolo’s other boxer Shervantaigh Koopman faces Wendy Toussaint from the United States of America (USA) in a vacant IBO Intercontinental junior-middleweight fight in the main supporting bout. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
