The Phakamile Jacobs chapter, which was characterised by controversy and fear in East London boxing, is going to finally come to an official end on Monday.

An official hand over before Boxing South Africa (BSA) bosses where Jacobs will give the baton to Siya Vabaza-Booi is going to take place in East London.

Ink Sport sought a comment from acting BSA chief executive officer Mandla Ntlanganiso, who said that they’re grateful to Jacobs for serving the fistic sport.

Vabaza-Booi, a former ring official, was on Monday last week announced as the new BSA provincial manager in the Eastern Cape replacing Jacobs, who held the position for more than 20 years.

History-making Duncan Village-born Vabaza-Booi, who once won the Female Ring Official of the Year award, is the first female to become a provincial BSA manager.
