A date has finally been confirmed for Ntethelelo Nkosi’s South African junior-welterweight title defence against Sanele Msimang in a bout, which will pit KwaZulu-Natal boxers against each other.
Trained by Damien Durandt in Johannesburg, Nkosi will be making the first defence of the title he captured when he stopped former champion Prince Dlomo in the ninth round in November last year.
“The fight is happening in August. I couldn’t wait any longer to have Nkosi fighting. He needs about two, three fights before we launch his international career,” Durandt said.
The fight between the 27-year-old Nkosi from Mtubatuba and Inchanga-born Msimang is going to be promoted by Golden Gloves on Saturday, 3 August.- Monwabisi Jimlongo
