The Proteas made history early on Thursday morning (South African time) as they reached their first ever World Cup final and will on Saturday face the winner of the match between India and England.
This followed after the South Africans defeated Afghanistan as they knocked 60 runs in 8.5 overs to win by nine wickets in a T20 World Cup semi-final match at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad.
The Proteas easily chased a low target of 57 after they had bowled out the Afghans for 56 runs in 11.5 overs. Reeza Hendricks knocked 29 runs and Aiden Markram scored 23 to take the Proteas to their first ever cup final having won all their eight matches in the tournament.
