An East London-based boxer and continental title contender was held at gun point by hoodlums while he was preparing for one of his most important fights.

Siseko Makeleni, who is preparing for his clash against Kaine Fourie, was accosted by two gun-wielding thugs in East London last weekend.

“Siseko Makeleni was gun pointed by two thugs on Sunday morning. He was running at the beach while training for his upcoming fight. Fortunately, he didn’t get injured. The thugs only took his cellphone and then ran away to the bush,” Makeleni’s trainer Amanda ‘Jahman’ Magatya told Ink Sport.

Fortunately, the sad experience has, however, has not deterred Makeleni as he’s continuing to prepare for the vacant International Boxing Federation (IBF) Continental Africa lightweight contest against Fourie.
