Tanzanian boxing promoter Sadah Kasonso of Kemmon Sports Agency has successfully persuaded Thabo ‘Super Eagle’ Sonjica from Duncan Village in East London to dust the cobwebs and return to the ring.
Sonjica, who last fought in 2015, is scheduled to face off against unbeaten Tanzanian boxer Abeid Zugo whose full name is Abeid Kessy Kasongo in Dar-Es-Salaam, Tanzania, on Saturday, 20 July.
Zugo is the same boxer who stopped former International Boxing Federation (IBF) and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) minimumweight champion Nkosinathi ‘Mabhere’ Joyi in May. Zugo also outpointed Simphiwe ‘V12’ Vetyeka, an erstwhile World Boxing Association (WBA) and IBO featherweight titlist, in December last year.
Meanwhile, another Eastern Cape boxer and former SA junior-bantamweight champion Sabelo Ngebiyana is also going to fight as he clashes with Fadhili Majiha, who defeated Bongani Mahlangu last October, in the same bill.
