A boxing tournament, which was going to be promoted by David Faas Productions at the OR Tambo Hall in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, on Saturday, 27 July, is not happening anymore.

Ink Sport can reveal that the show, which was set to be headlined by a World Boxing Federation (WBF) Intercontinental junior-bantamweight contest between Gideon ‘Hardcore’ Buthelezi and Tinashe Mahashe has been moved to a new date.

The tournament is now going to be co-promoted by Jackie Brice’s Jackie Brice Boxing Promotions and David Faas’ David Faas Productions on Saturday, 31 August.

“I’m going to do this international tournament because David has a development licence. The tournament is now going to be held on the 31st of August. I’m doing this because I have known David for many years,” Brice remarked.

Faas said about the tournament: “Yes, the tournament has been postponed to next month. Jackie and I are going to co-promote it.”

Buthelezi will still face off against Mahashe with Brice’s boxers Simamkele Tutsheni and Ntombokuqala Tolashe also fighting against yet-to-be-confirmed opponents. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
