Thato ‘Captain Charisma’ Bonokoane from Kagiso, Krugersdorp, in the West Rand is going to return to Namibia more than six months since he lost a fight there.
Bonokoane, a former World Boxing Federation (WBF) junior-featherweight champion, is scheduled to clash against Mateus Heita in a World Boxing Association (WBA) Pan-African featherweight title contest at the Windhoek Country Club on Saturday, 17 August.
This is going to be Bonokoane’s first visit to Namibia since he suffered a first round stoppage loss to Namibian boxer Fillipus Nghitumbwa in a World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Africa junior-featherweight title clash in Windhoek last December.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Heita, who was born in Omafo and is now based in Windhoek, has won all his 11 fights with seven of those victories coming from stoppages.
