Following a draw and a loss, Asemahle ‘Predator’ Wellem gets an opportunity to redeem himself as he faces Snamiso Ntuli at the Wild Coast Sun in Mzamba, Bizana, on Friday, 30 August.

Wellem from Chintsa in the Eastern Cape will be making the first defence of the South African super-middleweight title he captured after he stopped former champion Cowin Ray in the third round in October 2022.

On the other hand, this is the second time that Ntuli challenges for the SA title having failed to dethrone national middleweight champion John Bopape in Dlamini, Soweto, two years ago.

“You don’t just take a title, you fight for it. Snamiso will concentrate on the KZN title after this fight. I’m going to win this fight,” Wellem said.

Wellem drew with Selemani Kidunda from Tanzania in March and lost by a stoppage to Russian boxer Denis Savitsky in Russia two months ago.

Meanwhile, Ntuli will go to the Wellem fight following a fifth round stoppage victory over Andile Mntungwa in a KwaZulu-Natal super-middleweight title contest in March this year.
