A hand injury has forced Luvuyo Sizani from Ilinge in Komani to pull out of his fight against Vuyani Kosana, which was scheduled to take place at the Orient Theatre in East London later next month.

Sizani, the current African Boxing Union (ABU) champion, was due to face off against Kosana from the Free State in a vacant South African light-heavyweight title contest on Sunday, 25 August.

“Sizani is not fighting anymore because of an injury. He lost his balance on the steps and fell, balancing with his hand. Fortunately, there’s no fracture,” Sizani’s trainer Baba ‘Babes’ Makala revealed.

Sizani was going to fight in the same tournament where SA featherweight champion Zolisa Batyi is due to defend his title against Yamkela Phaliso. The Sizani fight is now earmarked for November. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
