Lerato ‘Lights Out’ Dlamini and his team are set to leave South Africa for Japan on Thursday, 15 August – nine days before he squares up against Japanese boxer Tomoki Kameda.
Dlamini is going to clash against Kameda in an International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight elimination bout at the Yamato Arena in Osaka.
“We are going to leave on the 15th of this month. It’s me, Lerato, Bernie Pailman and Hayden Jones,” Dlamini’s manager and trainer Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan revealed.
This is a rematch as the 30-year-old Dlamini defeated Kameda by a split decision when they met at the Ota-City General Gymnasium in Tokyo in October last year.
Dlamini from Welkom in the Free State is rated number two by the IBF while the 33-year-old Kameda is one place behind him. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
