A meeting between Last Born Boxing Promotions, Kay B Promotions and SuperSport held on Tuesday decided that Siyakholwa Kuse’s fight against Malaki Sobolo is going to be the first bout of the tournament scheduled for the Orient Theatre in East London on Sunday.
Kuse will be making the first defence of the South African minimumweight title since dethroning Bangile Nyangani at the East London International Convention Centre (ICC) in July last year.
The arrangement of the bouts was confirmed by both Mla Tengimfene from Last Born Boxing Promotions and Kay B Promotions’ Mzi Booi on Tuesday.
According to Tengimfene and Booi, scheduling and transmission times made it necessary for the bouts to be re-arranged so that they could be shown live.
Meanwhile, the SA featherweight title contest between reigning champion Zolisa Batyi and Yamkela Phaliso will be the second bout of the tournament.
And the main bout pitting former SA featherweight titlist Azinga ‘Golden Boy’ Fuzile against Namibian boxer Sebastianus Natanael, who arrived in East London on Tuesday, will be the third bout of the afternoon.
