Colin ‘Nomakanjani’ Nathan has declared that he’s proud of his boxer Lerato ‘Lights Out’ Dlamini and will take him back to contention after he lost to Japanese boxer Tomoki Kameda in Japan on Saturday.

Kameda won by a split decision in this International Boxing Federation (IBF) featherweight elimination bout, which was held at the Ariake Arena in Osaka, Japan. Two score cards read 116-111 and 114 -113 for Kameda with the third reading 114-113 for Dlamini.

“Split decision, knock down cost us. The referee was absolutely appalling. Had it not been for the point deduction we would have had a draw. I’m very proud of Dlamini’s performance. He showed a big heart and character. I will bring him back into contention,” Nathan said.

Interestingly, Dlamini from Welkom in the Free State defeated Kameda by a split decision when they fought in Tokyo last October.
