Chippa United announced on Thursday morning that Nigerian international goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has extended his stay at the Eastern Cape club. 

Not only has the 28-year-old Nwabali from Port Harcourt in Nigeria extended his contract for three years, he has als been appointed as the Chilli Boys captain. 

“We are pleased to announce that Stanley Nwabali has signed an improved three-year contract with Chippa United FC,” a Chilli Boys statement said.

“We are incredibly proud of Stanley’s dedication and commitment to the club. His leadership on and off the field has been exemplary and we believe he is the right person to guide our team through the challenges ahead. With this been said Stanley will be our new team captain for the upcoming season.” 

Meanwhile, the Chilli Boys also announced that left back Gadinkame Modise has signed a permanent deal with them from Mamelodi Sundowns. 

Mahikeng-born Modise, who was on loan at the Chilli Boys last season, has signed a three-year contract with the Gqeberha-based club.
