It was third time lucky for Ntombokuqala Tolashe as she won the vacant South African female featherweight title at the Vibrant Sport Centre in Ottery, Cape Town.

Tolashe defeated former SA female junior-featherweight champion Matshidiso Mokatsane from Kroonstad, Free State, to claim the title.

Before the Mokatsane fight, Tolashe had tried to win the SA female junior-lightweight crown on two occasions. She was, however, beaten by Nozipho Bell on both occasions.

Meanwhile, Amador Kalonji defeated Sandiso Kota by a sixth round technical knockout to win the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) Africa cruiserweight title and Sikelela Xatasi won the vacant Western Cape junior-lightweight title following a sixth round TKO win over Mava Sitoto.
