Erstwhile South African champion Mzolisi ‘Mjopa’ Yoyo has been appointed as trainer at the Luvuyo Boxing Club in Mdantsane.

The arrival of Yoyo, a former SA junior-welterweight titlist, was confirmed by Luvuyo Boxing Club manager Andile Mshumpela.

“We have now been joined by Mzolisi Yoyo as the trainer working with Luvuyo Tyamzashe after Patrick Quka suffered an illness that has made him to be unable to walk. Yoyo is a former South African champion. Boxers are happy with his training, in particular his padwork,” Mshumpela said.

The 46-year-old Yoyo arrived just on time to prepare Bongani Fule, who is going to fight against Abelo Tokwe in a vacant Eastern Cape featherweight title contest in Ginsberg, Qonce, on Sunday, 20 October. – Monwabisi Jimlongo
