There’s no two ways about what must happen when Sikho ‘Sequence’ Nqothole faces Namibian boxer Jafet Amukwa in an international bout at the Box Camp Booysens in Johannesburg on Friday evening.

Mthatha-born Nqothole and Amukwa made the required weight with ease during an official weigh-in in Booysens on Thursday ahead of the Boxing 5 Promotions tournament.

“We had good preparations just like it’s always the case before every fight. Everything went well. We both made the weight,” Nqothole remarked.

Nqothole said when he spoke about Amukwa: “There’s nothing much about him. I watched him when he fought against  DeeJay Kriel. We are ready for everything he will throw.”

The 30-year-old Nqothole’s career somehow suffered when he was defeated by Mexican boxer Rene Calixto Bibiano in Mexico almost four months ago.

Currently, Nqothole is rated 17th by the World Boxing Council (WBC), 11th in the International Boxing Federation (IBF) ratings and 15th in the World Boxing Organisation (WBO). – Monwabisi Jimlongo
