Lwando Mgabi remains unbeaten following his unanimous decision victory over Sihle Jelwana at the Sunningdale Sports Complex in Milnerton, Cape Town, on Friday evening.

As a result of his points win, Mgabi annexed the South African junior-bantamweight title, which was vacant before he fought against Jelwana from Komani.

This title became vacant after Mgabi’s Duncan Village homeboy Phumelela Cafu relinquished it when he got an opportunity to challenge reigning World Boxing Organisation (WBO) junior-bantamweight champion Kosei Tanaka in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday, 14 October.

Meanwhile, Asekho Nocele won the vacant World Boxing Federation (WBF) International bantamweight title following a 10th round technical knockout win over Ayanda Gangqa in the same tournament.
