Orlando Pirates made history when they won the MTN8 trophy following a 3-1 win over Stellenbosch FC at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on Saturday evening.
Two goals in referee’s added time by substitutes Tshegofatso Mabasa and Relebohile Mofokeng added to Monnapule Saleng’s goal to give the Buccaneers victory over Stellies.
Pirates came from behind after Lehlohonolo Mojela had given Stellies the lead with an acrobatic kick 13 minutes into the match.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers have now become the only team to win the MTN8 trophy on three successive occasions.
