Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is aiming to win both home and away matches against Congo in 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Bafana face the Congolese at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha on Friday evening and the two sides will clash again in Congo on Tuesday next week.

“We want to take all the six points to avoid the stress in November where you may need another victory. We had that experience three years ago with Ghana and we must try to avoid that,” Broos said.

“It is easy to say, but we have to take into account the opponents. There are a lot of things happening in Congo in the beginning of the week, but we will make a big mistake by thinking that team will be influenced by what happened and they will be ready for the game.”

This is the 11th time Bafana Bafana and the Congolese meet with the South Africans having won four matches and Congo winning once with the other five matches ending in draws.

The last match between the two teams ended in a goalless draw during a 2015 AFCON qualifier at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane in October 2014.
